Transformational Mexican-American, 1st-Generation, Educator and School Leader in urban secondary schools. Proven track record of being a ‘turn-around’ leader, designing and implementing transformational adult learning and community building in high poverty neighborhoods. Skilled in State/Local Gov’t (CA&TX) Affairs,  Political Campaign Management(state & local elections), Educational Consulting(Diversity, Instruction, School Culture, Adult Culture, Teacher Retention), professional diplomatic Simultaneous Interpretation (Spanish), Turn-Around School Leadership, and State & Local Education Policy Analysis. With over a decade of professional experience in both the Bay Area, CA, and the Dallas-FortWorth Metroplex, TX, Mr. Pena has been an advocate for educational equity and political engagement for marginalized communities, particularly in Spanish-speaking neighborhoods.  The son of a janitor from Monterrey, Mexico, Mr. Pena was born during the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake in the Bay Area and has been ‘shaking-up’ the world ever since. As a first-generation graduate of Howard University with a B.A. in Political Science (Int’l Affairs) and an M.Ed. in Education Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University, Mr. Pena has dedicated his life to public service and systemic change through transformative public education. Mr. Pena has also served as the keynote speaker of several public speaking events around topics of “Revolutionary Educational Leadership” and “Real Hope in High Performing Title-1 Schools” for audiences and students around North America. Mr. Pena is engaged to his fiance Vanessa, who is a Principal in Fort Worth and resides in Arlington, Texas.
