Bio

Mirgitt Crespo was born in Caracas, Venezuela and immigrated to the United States of America in 2002. She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from La Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Caracas, Venezuela; and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Texas at Austin. Mirgitt is currently the Executive Director of Federal Programs at the Fort Worth Independent School District where she works in the budgeting, planning and monitoring of school projects financed with Federal and State funds. Through membership with the Association of Compensatory Educators of Texas Executive Council, she is able to exercise her passion for education policy and administration. Mirgitt is committed to serve Latino students so that they have the necessary educational resources to excel, and is always looking for opportunities to increase her contribution to the community and city needs, strengthening connections and bringing change. She is a member of the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas (Fort Worth) where she has served as Parliamentarian and member of the Education Committee. Mirgitt is also an alumna of Leadership Fort Worth (Class 2019), participated in the Fort Worth Race and Culture Task Force and is an Executive Board member of the Tarrant Area Food Bank. She has lived in Fort Worth the last 18 years with her husband Hector and her two dogs Fifi and Coco.
