Capria S. Dees, RN, MN, PHR

Capria Dees is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She earned a Bachelor in the Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from Dillard University and a master’s degree in nursing from LSU Medical Center.
Capria has been a Registered Nurse for 35 years. She relocated to Dallas, Texas with her family in December 1999. She has held leadership roles in recruitment and retention for the last 24 years at Parkland Health and PCCI combined.
For the last 7 years, Capria has worked with Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation (PCCI) as the Talent Management leader. She was promoted to VP of HR in 2019 and added the role of Chief Diversity Officer in 2020. Recently added the role of Compliance Officer to her duties in June 2023.
Capria was honored as one of DFW’s Great 100 Nurses in 2017. She also holds Professional Certification in Human Resources (PHR). She is a member of Dallas HR, Society for Human Resources (SHRM), Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), Chi Eat Phi Nursing Sorority, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and is a certified Notary Public.
Capria has been married for 33 years and is the proud mother of three beautiful adult daughters.
Capria is passionate about caring for the community and ensuring that access to healthcare is equitable and culturally competent. Other passions include educating new nursing students, training teams on DEI concepts and best practices, recruitment and retention and most recently healthcare compliance.
