Shay Gipson is a dedicated marketing and communications professional with a strong commitment to the community, driven by a deep passion for philanthropy and volunteering. With a deep-rooted passion for community betterment, Shay has been a catalyst for positive change in various community-based organizations, making a lasting impact at every step of her journey.

With a background in project and organizational management, Shay has harnessed a combination of knowledge and practical experience to become a valuable asset to every organization she comes into contact with, including her employer, Goodwill North Central Texas. She has consistently sought opportunities to leverage her skills and expertise to benefit those in need, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to social causes. As Vice President of Community Engagement, Shay leads the Community Engagement Team, manages a substantial annual marketing budget, and spearheads all company fundraising, marketing, and advertising initiatives. Her community outreach and advocacy efforts have been instrumental in launching major gift campaigns and strategic partnerships. Shay is a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee within the organization, and she also serves on the company Strategic Planning Committee. Her leadership and dedication to Goodwill’s mission have garnered her the Fort Worth Business Presses’ Minority Leaders in Business Award in 2017, amongst numerous other accolades.

Throughout Shay’s career, she has honed her abilities in marketing, advertising, advocacy, event coordination, and fundraising, making her a trusted resource for organizations seeking to create lasting, positive change. This has translated into a proven track record of career advances, awards, and accomplishments, illustrating her ability to turn vision into reality.

As a philanthropist, Shay embodies the spirit of giving, not only through her professional endeavors but also in her personal life. She has demonstrated a consistent commitment to volunteer work, dedicating countless hours to a wide range of causes that resonate with her values. Shay’s passion for making a difference is contagious, inspiring those around her to join in the pursuit of a better, more equitable world.

Shay’s philanthropic work extends beyond the boardroom and volunteer activities, as she is actively involved in the Fort Worth Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Beta Mu Omega), on the board of directors for Housing Opportunities of Fort Worth, and the Board of Trustees for the Davey O’Brien Foundation. Shay has also served the community as a volunteer through her work with the Junior League of Fort Worth and was recently elected and confirmed as the President-Elect for the upcoming year. She will serve as the organization’s 96th President and the first woman of color to hold that role. The Junior League of Fort Worth has nearly 2000 members and is the tenth largest League in the world.

These involvements have allowed her to foster invaluable connections with like-minded individuals and organizations, further amplifying the positive change she seeks to achieve. When Shay isn’t working to strengthen communities or actively volunteering, she can often be found traveling with her husband and son, playing Mahjong, or binging on the latest Netflix series.

With a vision of a more inclusive, compassionate world, Shay continues to champion the causes she holds dear and inspire others to do the same. Her dedication to community, nonprofit work, philanthropy, and volunteering is not only her profession but her life’s purpose.
