About Me

Bio

With over 13 years of experience in higher education, I am a dedicated educator and researcher focused on enhancing students’ learning and outcomes. Holding a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Policy and Leadership from Southern Methodist University, I also earned a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Texas Christian University.

As a Principal Investigator for the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program at Tarrant County College District, I recruit and support students to increase underrepresented participation in STEM fields. In my role as an Instructor at Tarrant County College, I specialize in fostering a sense of belonging, implementing active learning strategies, and promoting student engagement. As a first-generation college student myself, I am passionate about supporting students who may face additional challenges and empowering them to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Additionally, I have served for four years as a faculty senate representative, hold certifications in online instruction, and have completed the engaged learning institute. I am actively involved in campus and district committees, demonstrating my commitment to education and service to my college. My enthusiasm for teaching is matched by my dedication to enhancing education and serving my college community.
